If you haven’t seen How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days, I envy and sympathize with you. I envy you because I wish to go back in time and experience this cinematic masterpiece for the first time. I sympathize with you because you are missing out on what I consider a pure work of art and the greatest romcom of all time.

The film accurately depicts the phrase, “All’s Fair in Love and War,” as the two main characters use one another for their gain. Benjamin Barry, who is after a new account at his advertising firm, must make Andie Anderson, the “resident how-to” writer at a top fashion magazine, fall in love with him in just 10 days. The twist is that Andie must force Ben to dump her in that same time frame. The two battle it out for a week and a half, forcing the other to act completely out of character.

This film embodies the magic of Hollywood. It is impossible to not become invested in Ben and Andie’s love story. You laugh and cry along with them as if they are your real friends. It leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy and even had me start to ask myself “WWAAD,” “What Would Andie Anderson Do?”

How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days provides the audience with a level of comfort and happiness that does not exist in today’s film industry. Today’s films have so many underlying themes that it is often hard to use them as an escape from reality, which, in my opinion, is the entire purpose of movies.

This movie requires no thought and is just pure fun. I rarely hear of a person who thinks poorly of How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days

Last, but certainly not least, How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days is so relatable. If you are a Knicks fan or just an NBA fan in general, you will love this film. If you long for a life in NYC, you will love this film. If you are a hopeless romantic, like myself, then you will love it.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, there is no better time to view this film. Whether it is your first time watching, or your 100th (like me) I promise you, How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days is worth every second of your time and attention.
