Only three more days until the new Chick-fil-A in town opens its doors for the first time!

Fairfield University students can now treat themselves to a chicken sandwich and milkshake somewhere that’s just five minutes from campus! The temporary closure of Chick-fil-A’s Norwalk location, where students previously traveled, is creating even more excitement for the new location to open.

Here’s what you need to know before opening day:

  • Doors will be open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.
  • There is no drive-through. The new restaurant is for dine-in and carry-out only.
  • Students don’t need to camp out the night before the grand opening. Chick-fil-A Inc. won’t be awarding the first 100 customers free entrees for a year like they did prior to COVID. This tradition ended in 2020
  • In place of the original tradition, Chick-fil-A Inc. has elected to give free entrees for a year to 100 local heroes who have made an impact in the Fairfield area. The individuals’ names have not been released yet, but students can keep an eye on the restaurant’s Facebook where the names will be posted, according to the press release.

“We have selected our group of community heroes and look forward to surprising them later this week,” says Rich Beattie, Chick-fil-A Post Road’s local owner and operator.

Co Editor-in-Chief of The Rearview, Annie Tomosivitch ‘24 and I stopped in for a sneak peak of the new restaurant today.
